We load adoptable pets at our Rescue Partner’s location and transport them to festivals, fairs, and major shopping areas … in Air Conditioned Comfort. As a result, these animals are seen by a larger pool of potential adoptive families, in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.
Many potential adopters never think to go to a shelter, or may find that environment intimidating or uninviting. Foster groups struggle to retain foster families, often because of “adoption event” burn-out. We solve that!
By eliminating the need to haul/setup/teardown crates, and transfer animals to/from vehicles and crates, an organization can show many more animals with fewer staff & volunteers. This also make it practical to travel farther, into more favorable markets for pet adoption. Because the trailer is climate controlled, events can be held year round. Lastly, by remaining in their individual compartments behind Plexiglass, adoptable pets are not constantly bombarded with (and reacting to) children & other animals poking at them in their crates. A less stressed animal is more likely to be adopted!
Each adoption event that Ragtag Rescue operates includes at least two of our volunteers to assist the Rescue Partner’s team. Upon meeting Ragtag’s basic requirements (disease-free, vaccinated, etc.), the Rescue Partner organization retains control of their adoption criteria, applications, and fees.
